Boston three day trip report, with photos

Hello! ... My wife and I just returned from three days in Boston in early April. This trip report uses photos and captions to show what we did over several days of walking around the heart of Boston. We were there for a collegiate a cappella tournament, that our son participated in, but we still got a fair amount of sightseeing done, mostly done by walking and using the subway.

Click on each photo to make it larger; then you'll be able to read the caption in full underneath each photo. Please correct any errors I might have made in labeling things - I would be most appreciative. If you have any questions, please fire away ... and I will do my best answer you within a day or two. If you are interested in seeing my other travel web albums, click on "My Photos" in the upper left corner (highlighted in blue).

OK, here's the link ...

Happy travels!

Mike

Very nice. Enjoyed your photos. I only spent one day in Boston on our way to Cape Cod but liked it very much. We found the subway system to be very easy to use and plenty of staff available to help if you were the least bit confused.

Quincy Market was very busy the day we were there and it was hot inside so we purchased food and ate it outside. Many others had the same idea. A great variety of food.

Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations for the talented son, we know it was all because of good parenting. Thanks for the posting too.

Thanks for the comments, everyone.

Emalloy, you were right ... including the link to my son singing was over the top on my part and really had no place in an album all about Boston. As soon as I read your comment, I deleted the link. I guess I have indeed been overly proud of my son lately.

Nanabee, I use a digital SLR, a Nikon D7000 - it's a high end amateur camera, right before you would have to spend a lot more money to get the type of camera body the pros use. The lens I used on this trip was an 18-135mm. Normally, on other trips, especially where I would be focusing more on sweeping landscapes, I am willing to cart around more lenses, especially a super wide angle. ... Then once home, I process the photos within Aperture - it's a program similar to Photoshop ... to crop them, adjust the lighting, if needed, reduce shadows, and so on.

Thank you Mike, such great photos!
Definitely chilly weather but on the plus side you also had beautiful clear blue sky days and I've never seen such wonderfully clear views from the top of the Pru. I've taken friends up the top at least a dozen times in the 11 years I've lived here.

Next time do go to the MFA. There's a Japanese garden and pretty courtyard garden to photograph in addition to the art
