BOSTON Restaurants..

Going to Boston for the weekend. Eating at Mama Maria's, Grill 23, and Prezzas. Any other suggestions? Looking for great seafood or something different.

Hi Lynda,

I have eaten at both MM's and Prezza. I also love Todd English's Kingfish Hall. It was fantastic! Excellent seafood, great atmosphere and service. Have fun!

The No Name restaurant on fish pier was first built for the fishermen after they unloaded their catch. Not too fancy, but the freshest fish at insanely low prices especially for lunch or early bird specials.

As a Bostonian I have to admit that No Name (as is Anthony Athana's overpriced place) is highly over rated...no matter what the price, reputation or atmosphere..Our favorite in Boston on Clarendon Street is Skipjacks...we were at a local theatre on Sunday and had brunch there...and Wednesday will play tour director to some old friends from Florida who want some great fish...

Todd English is an arrogant and incrediably cheap (at his daughters school's fundraiser) bastard. Avoid his resteraunts.

Noi name used to be inexpensive and good - I do not find it either these days. Have not eaten at any of Todd English's restaurants, but many many friends rave about it. I still vote for Legal Seafoods. I know it is now a chain and prices are higher than some other restaurants, but I have never had better seafood unless we caught it ourself.

We had lunch at Legal Seafoods at Kendall Square last Monday. It was delicious!

I also really love Legal but I don't think it is the same type of restaurant at Kingfish Hall. It's kind of loud and casual whereas Kingfish is a little nicer, upscale (not really the right word but for lack of a better). So it kind of depends on what you want. Considering Lynda's other choices were more upscale is why I suggested Kingfish.
