Boston Pops by the Sea in Hyannis
Has anyone attended this concert? http://www.artsfoundation.org/pops-by-the-sea
My daughter really wants to see the Boston Pops when she is in New England this summer, and they happen to be playing at this concert while she is there. (which is great, as it is much closer to my family's home than Tanglewood). I'm trying to decide whether to buy the lawn seats for $15 or whether it is worth it to purchase the "festival seats" for $50. Since we will not be there, she will probably be going with my Mom, who has some mobility limitations. Therefore, we could use some parking advice, also.
Any and all guidance you can give will be appreciated!

I'd do the lawn seats (bring chairs) and bring binoculars.
As for parking, best bet is probably to drop off Mom, then park the car, unless she arrives much earlier in the day and manages to park nearby (a challenge).

I always attend POPS BY THE SEA on Cape Cod on the first Sunday in August every year. It is the only time the Boston Pops come to Cape Cod every year so it is a real tradition for Cape Codders since they have been doing this the same weekend every year for over twenty years. We have sat in both the lawn and the festival seats over the years. The lawn seats are very inexpensive (just five dollars for kids and fifteen dollars for adults if you buy them in advance of the concert). And this event is so popular- they always sell out - so buy them in advance..
It can be pretty crowded on the lawn so people put their folding chairs or their little blankets quite close together. It works fine. It's a very nice crowd.
The festival seats are more money than the lawn seats but you do not have to bring anything with you and you are guaranteed a better view and of course they supply the seats which are all set up in advance. I think if I was bringing a person with some mobility limitations I might spring for the festival seats - at fifty dollears they are stil a bargain.
But whatever you do - it is ALWAYS a good time. And no matter where you sit the sound is great and the atmosphere is very nice. My family never misses it. Definitely come early - as close to 1 pm as posssible - as seating fills up in all sections quickly and there is entertainment there all afternoon and food all afternoon to keep you busy and happy. And yes - you can drop off a passenger super close and then go and park your car nearby. We do that and I just call my mom on her cell phone so she tells me where she is sitting and I walk to her after I have parked.

You will LOVE this concert, held rain or shine. Get lawn seats but know that
admission to set up lawn seat is at 1pm and the crowd is hovering! Concert
starts at 5. People pack picnics and stay on the green all afternoon. Parking
is nearby at the North Street lot or along North Street at CLOSED businesses.
Sections of lawn cannot be "saved" for others in your party who want to arrive late.
This just isn't fair to those who arrive early.
It is a GREAT community event. Bring your camera, binoculars, an umbrella (then
it WON'T rain!), a light jacket (just in case of a cool breeze) and sunscreen.
There is a sing-a-long, usually, near the end of the concert. Food is sold -- ice cream,
"pops" corn, potato chips, water, soda, fried dough. T-shirts are sold. There are portable
bathrooms.
