The POLICE coming to Fenway in Boston, any advice on seat selection there?

Hi. I am excited that The Police are coming to Fenway Park in Boston and want to buy a pair of tickets, but I'm a little confused as to what would be "decent" seats without having to shell out 1,000.00 + for the obviously good ones. At this time, is there anyone who could recommend a section (they have the layout of Fenway for the concert available if you type in The Police concert Fenway Park Boston on google... I'd appreciate it. I've never been to Fenway Park for concerts - and perhaps have been there only once for a ballgame.. what if it rains... are there any protected areas for the concert-goers? I imagine the show goes on as I'm sure the musicians must have a protected area... I'd be interested in same for us, just incase!

Sections 31, 32, and 33 offer some of the best views in Fenway Park and are likely a good bet. You can see the entire field area and stadium, which is rare for a stadium that old and unique in design. They also have a roof over them. The only possible glitch would be if the stage design had a really, really large structure on the side of the stage that blocked the view... but I don't think that would happen. I always recommend these seats over any other in Fenway because the view is so ideal. In baseball games, it is also great for families because they are alcohol-free. I am rather sure that does not apply to cncerts.

I would avoid the right field corner (sections 86, 89, 90, 91). That general area has seats that face an awkward direction and making seeing things a challenge.

Obviously the sections behind home plate are good (aside from the screen if they leave it up) and the sections on either side are also wonderful.

The grandstand seats (which are purple on the map I am looking at) almost all have a roof over them and that roof partially extends over the seats below them. Also, the main concourse at Fenway is sort of "underground" and shelters you from the rain.

As a general rule, stadium views are better from the left field seating areas than right field.

I hope this helps. I was a security guard for the Red Sox at Fenway Park for five years so I enjoy giving advice and talking about it. A great, great stadium. Enjoy the show!

You might want to consider joining the fan club for $100 which will allow you to participate in a presale for the tickets.

so, I also hate the rightfield corner seats for a ball game. But they actually face the outfield, and isn't that exactly where the band is set up? I think they set up right in front of the green monster, near center field. I have a feeling those RF seats would be pretty good for a concert. They might be better than the left side, where you would be more to the sideof the band.

The rightfield rooftop would be really nice if its a nice evening. But there will be no cover for rain.

Disclaimer -- I've been to tons of games at Fenway, but none of the concerts. somebody who has seen where the stage setup is would have a better idea.

Also, its a small stadium. really, I doubt any of the seats would be terrible. I'd probably stay away from the back of the grandstands if you can. my guess is you won't have much choice. the concerts have all sold out very quickly.

one other hint...the seats are so very tight. don't bring any extra stuff if you can help it. its just hard to find room to put down a bag or a coat. Carry the minimum!

Okay! I got the tickets - tell me what you think - I am in SECTION 93, Row DD. I paid almost 600.00 per ticket. I wanted coverage, in case of rain, and I wanted to be as close as I could... and these, at this writing, were the best I could get. Any comments on how happy you'll think we'll be? Hopefully it's not the nosebleed section, or too much of an angle...

Where is the stage set up? Those are good seats for a baseball game, but depends on where they put the stage. No nosebleed section at Fenway, so no fear there.

Listen to caution about how small seats are. No cup holders, no place to stash coats - the area under seats is gross.

Also, food at Fenway is very limited in variety. Eat first.

Thanks so much for letting me know about the seats, etc. I forgot where the stage is, we already have our tickets... the stage is to our right... so we're sort of craning our necks a little to see the stage... these were the best seats at the time, so, I was limited, somewhat. I'll eat first...great to know.

Holy ...... !!!!

600 bucks for a Police ticket! I know that every little thing they do is magic, but for that price, you'd better be singing background vocals for Sting ... on stage !

Hi there,
I'm just reading this thread and was wondering how you know where the stage will be for the Police? My dad saw the Stones there and said they set up in center-right field (in between the left sided bullpen and the flag). That doesnt' sound like what you said, unless I'm just not seeing it right. And also tickets haven't even gone on sale for this yet, for those of you who may want to get them, you might have a chance.

Check out: http://media.ticketmaster.com/en-us/...ny2/18194s.gif

Tickets went on sale in February, shortly after the reunion was announced. Currently Season ticket holders to the Sox are being offered a chance to get some tickets...anything left over (if anything) will probably be put back on sale to the general public.

Thanks milemarker0 for the info. My dad actually does have season tickets to the Sox so I guess that's why I didn't have a clue. I ended up getting Field box seats in SEction 27 row JJ. Not the greatest but for $100 each, sweet!! To be honest with you, I still don't even know what my first choice of seats would have been. I mean other than the floor seats, (which usually I don't like anyway since everyone's in front of you, I like being up higher), what would you have picked for the best?

Fenway isn't really the best place to see a concert, (or even a baseball game for that matter...) Your section seems good, I guess I'd pick field boxes around 86 - 93....
