Boston Hotel Advice
I currently have a room booked at the Doubletree Club Hotel Boston-Bayside for about $170 per night for our upcoming trip that includes 2 nights in Boston.
I have been trying to get a room through Priceline at a lesser rate (our trip is next month) but have been unsuccessful.
I see that Hotwire has a 3 1/2 star hotel in Back-Bay Copley that appears to be the Sheraton Boston Hotel (based on what I see at www.betterbidding.com) for what would turn out to be basically the same price.
Does anyone know enough about these two hotels to indicate which one they would choose based on location and convenience to the T and sights?

I agree that the Sheraton is a much better location, but don't cancel the Doubletree until you have your new reservation.
The Doubletree is pretty far out of town; it's basically a part of the expo center in Dorchester about 5 miles from the center of the city; but it's a 5-minute walk from the JFK/UMass station on the subway system's Red Line so it's do-able if nothing better comes around.

I know you have been planning this trip since last March/April - and had a few other things on hold - Quincy Adams, etc -
I would choose this Doubletree over the Adams, you can walk to the T and they have a free shuttle to and from Logan - and it is close enough to the city you could also take a taxi back -
the Sheraton, as anything downtown, is certainly more prime location b/c you can walk and easily T many places - but as Gail mentioned, now it is only weeks away and October is prime month - so I wouldn't cancel this one until you are sure you have something.

Just booked the Sheraton Boston Hotel through Hotwire. Grand total for two nights $398.00.
I'm happy with this purchase and also just glad that I don't have to think about this anymore and can move on to other parts of trip planning.
Thanks for all your quick replies!
