Boston Harbor Hotel/Dinner

Nice place to stay? I need a couple of excellent dinner establishments. Expensive or not, just needs to be good.

This is a lovely hotel, but I've not had dinner there. However, I have had dinner at Julien in the Meridien and it is EXCELLENT.

Comments: What an experience! I dined with 2 friends who travel a great deal and eat at fine restaurants often and we all agreed it was the best meal any of us ever had! We sampled 3 small plates each and every item on each place was out of this world. The venison and ostrich were outstanding and corn custard may be the great piece of food I have ever tasted! The creativity of the desserts were tough to beat. The service was 5 star as well. If you want an amazing dining experience, Meritage is the place to go!

Comments: I thought this restaurant was overrated. We went on New Year's and even though we had a reservation, we had to wait almost 1/2 hour for our table and weren't offered any apology or appetizer/dessert as other restaurants have done in the same situation. The filet mignon was excellent, but the other food we ordered was just ok.

Comments: This restaurant blew me away. Everyone who worked there seemed so excited about the cuisine and the concept of this new sort of dining (matching wine with food) and absolutely nothing disappointed. Chef Bruce came to our table and pleasantly chatted with us, while we looked upon this stunning view of the Boston Harbor. This restaurant surpassed our expectations.

Bay Tower
60 State Street, Boston, MA
The Bay Tower room has an incredible view of the harbor.
Spinnaker (It's at one of the hotels.)
575 Memorial Drive, Cambridge, MA
They have a revolving restaurant that offers wonderful views across the Charles River of the city.
I can't vouch for the food at either. It's been a while since we've been at Spinnaker's and at the Bay Tower we've only been in the lounge. You could try Zagat's or some such... Actually, try PhantomGourmet.com for suggestions, too. It's a local restaurant show and their website is very helpful.

Have not stayed at your hotel, but can recommend these Boston resaurants.
The Bay Tower Room for best ambience; food is certainly very good. Best food to be found at one of these, IMHO:
Mistral, Hammersley's, Aujourd'hui (at the 4S).
Bon Apetit!

Wait a minute...
Is this the hotel right across the street from the WTC? If so, it is a wonderful place to stay! A little far away from major "attractions," but terrific service with a strict NO TIPPING policy. I'd advise on staying in an upgraded room for a better view and slightly larger size.
Have not eaten in the hotel, but my restaurant recs are above.

Dreamer2 - you are thinking of the Seaport Hotel. The Boston Harbor Hotel is closer to the financial district. Boston Harbor is a great hotel with terrific views of the harbor.

Radius gets great reviews for fine dining.
