BOSTON -- can this be true? BIG DIG in its' last stages ???
Prepping for my visit to family on the south shore and was stunned to read that progress is actually being made on the Big Dig (a/k/a the most expensive highway project in the world). YES, it appears that the end may actually be in sight! Saw article on www. boston.com about opening of southbound 93 --- locals, talk to me, have you been on the new stretch yet?

About that prty - glad to see that it was cancelled, but for a different reason. They have had aeveral parties already - the next one should be when it is REALY done. Let's see the central artery come down and the parks "rise from the dust"...and then as a taxpayer I think it is time to say thank you to Wester Mass for tolerating this fiasco all these years.....it's funny when you think about it...very soon the first time tourist will have no idea what was before and what everyone went through for this project.

Well, we made national TV news with the Big Dig finishing..It is amazing...you have driven on one road one day...the next day...it's closed and there is another. I would like to live to see the day the parks and gardens are in place..lo. The Leonard Zakim Bridge is a thing of beauty in the same category as the
San Francisco Bridge (IMO much more beautiful). It was amazing to see how they put two pieces of the underwater tunnel together UNDERWATER...(I think) To really appreciate it we took a Duck Tour and you can actually see the overhead road being torn down from a different perspective.. Okay..so it went over estimates...doesn't everything. BTW try buying property in the outskirts of Boston now.....way out of sight..
