Boston - After Dinner Entertainment?

Four of us are dining at Boston's L'Espalier on a Saturday in early July. All of us are "out of towners". We would like to take in some (not too frantic) entertainment following dinner - perhaps a jazz club in the general vicinity of the restaurant. Any recommendations would be appreciated. The dinner occasion is a 25th wedding anniversary. Thanks.

Not really near L'Espalier, but Scullers is probably the best one in town: http://www.scullersjazz.com/

Or Regatta Bar http://www.regattabarjazz.com/

Also, if you're "early July" = around July 4th, check out this website for July 4th related evening events: http://www.bostonharborfest.com/eveningevents.html

Look at the Boston Phoenix website for extensive music listings, including jazz.

Most people are so happy after leaving L'Espalier that all they want to do is waddle back to the hotel. Slowly.

The Beehive in the South End is an option. Probably about a 20 min walk or so, good for burning off some calories!

Thanks very much for your suggestions. I'm always so impressed with how kind and thoughtful the responses to my queries are. Fodorites are a very genteel group.
