Boring-but need help in Joplin, MO

Message: We will be spending 1 week in Joplin, MO this August with 12 teenagers for a 14 & Under Girls Fastpitch National Championship Tournament. Two questions...1) LODGING? Reasonably priced as we have to do a lot of car washes to pay for this trip. 2) ACTIVITIES? Typically there is a lot of free time between games, sometimes only one game a day. Anything to keep them occupied?

I spent a weekend there two years ago. There alot of those chain hotels near the highway. The Hampton Inn is the newest and nicest. Its worth the extra cash. I think there's a pool. Activity wise good luck. There is a mall. There is a movie theater. If you have alot of time, go to Springfield. Its a bigger town.

You might check into the Precious Moments Museum and Chapel. It's not in Joplin but I think just north.
