Boothbay Harbor or Ogunquit for Mem Weekend?

Never been to Maine, but am trying to find out people's opinions on their favorite places to stay on the southern coast there. Thanks!!

It would be Ogunquit for me. I loved the numerous lobster places Yum!!!I also noticed the smaller places to stay were much less expensive than in the bigger cities on the east coast. I enjoyed walking through the little shops and soaking up the atmosphere. I bet it is pretty busy on this weekend though!

We've been to both many times, and each is fabulous. I'd have to flip a coin.

Kayla-

I'd definitely choose Ogunquit. We have been to both but go to Ogunquit at least once a year. If you enjoy walking and enjoying a picturesque setting, it's just great. Walk the marginal way - a mile long footpath along the coast - starts at Perkins Cove. We stay at the Sparhawk but it is hard to get in. There are many nice accommodations there and eating places as well. Enjoy!!!

We like Ogunquit, but it can be hard to find a place to stay. We stay at the Sparhawk, but it is normally full. check the Beachmere Inn www.beachmereinn.com. There is a very nice inn just outside of Boothbay at East Boothbay called the Five Cables Inn check www.fivegablesinn.com

We like Ogunquit as well - have always stayed at the Cliff House (cliffhousemaine.com) due to the wonderful view of ocean/crashing waves - like the restaurants too and you are not far from Kennebunkport, Wells and Freeport

Maine is very nice yet depending where you are coming from traffic may be brutal on Memorial Day weekend so just plan to travel at non-peak times. If you enjoy shopping Freeport is a lovely town and worth the trip. Also, dinner at White Barn Inn is wonderful in Kennebunk. The Cliff House has some other very nice postings you may want to read. Good Luck!
