In a big casino hotel, no one will notice. Just don't all walk up to the reservation desk together.
I wouldn't do it now, but I have in the past. My friends and I also used to pretend to be guests at hotels to use the pool. Doesn't make it right, but you probably wont get caught - with the 3 to a room thing - we got caught with the swimming pool thing occasionally. The funniest time was when we unknowingly swam in the pool at a motel owned by the family of a girl who went to our school and the girl saw us

She didn't ask a simple question.
She asked how to cheat the hotel.
What if she said - how can I try on clothes and walk out with them without paying?
Would that be "a simple question"?
Really - I don't know what's happened to ethics and morality.

nytraveler, while I agree with you whole-heartedly, here are the only questions she asked:
Do you think we could get away with it?
Anyone ever done this?
Did you get away with it?
If not, what happened?
She does not seem concerned about cheating the hotel.

OO, thanks for all the advice. I especially like the light bulb idea -- those new spiral ones are expensive. I could take an old burned out one and substitute it for the good one in the room lamp, then call housekeeping, get another new one -- and I'd have TWO new working ones, leaving my old burned out one.
Meanwhile, I've been thinking of a new king size mattress and box springs. . .any ideas???

She may be young as most of us were at one time, I have snuck into a drive in theater 35 yrs ago, and it was great fun.
Defrauding an inn keeper could land a person in the jail as the laws are very strict.
My wife as part of her routine when we stay at Hotels, will visit the maids for extra toiletries and I mean extra. She has taken a couple of towels at $450 a night rooms (this I really frown on and have insisted she never do this again).
At My age of 48 I couldn't be bothered trying to scam anyone or anything anymore.

Please explain this to me.
On this question, Diva is getting attacked for her moral failing.
On another thread where a married woman was saying how hard it was to resist the advances of a married man she met on vacation, several posters encouraged her to "go for it".
Not saying either one is right, but it seems odd that this inspires so much disdain and the other thread so many people were encouraging the OP.

I believe most of these "additional people fees" are created to prevent the 14 to a room parties. That's why they are most often seen in party places like Vegas and spring break hotspots.
If I were the OP and I really didn't want to pay the extra person fee, I would simply ask the desk at arrival (with the three of us standing there) if they would drop the fee since we are decent adults who aren't going to party and destroy the room.

<<I think the answer to that is pretty simple. More people enjoy sex than stealing.
So that makes it OK? I would say that more people would be hurt (i.e. if young kids were involved) by an extramarital affair than what the OP is suggesting.

P_M, you totally miss the point of this post. It's how to get away with things. It's easy to sneak an extra person into the room, take some light bulbs and soap, and even a few towels, but they'll miss the TV and you'll get caught. Isn't that the point here? NOT getting caught stealing?

Thank you for clarifying that Patrick, I did indeed miss that important point. OK here's a better idea--I'll take my old crappy TV with bunny ears into the Sheraton. Then I'll swap it out for the fancy new TV that comes with the room. They won't notice, will they?? :-?

Please don't cheat these honest casinos. It costs them a lot of money to have a third person take a shower, use the sheets, and use the towels.
You can be sure that when you pay $30 per person extra for four nights times 2 persons, the hotel gives a good share of that $240 to the maid for having to spend extra time and effort on your room.
And you can be sure that those slot machines really do pay back 99% as promised in their advertising.
And you can be sure they'll cough up some cash when their valet scratches your car, they'll take full responsibility.
And you can be sure that if one of your "extra" guests pees on the mattress, they'll just charge you the fair amount for replacing the mattress pad, they won't ream your credit card for every penny that they can get.

I agree with those on here who find it cheating. It has been a frustration of mine that I now pay for my 13 year old at some places. I think if you pay for a queen or king bed they should expect 2 guests. I think if you pay for 2 queens or 2 doubles they should expect 4 people. I

Hi Diva - we've DEFINITELY stashed extra people in rooms in Vegas. Where are you staying? We usually stay at Mandalay or Hard Rock...typically, we get four girls in a room without any issue. I've had a few bach parties in Vegas with this, and it's never been an issue. They will usually give you extra keys at the front desk too, which may be of concern to you if you want to use the pool. Just don't be a sloppy idiot about it, and you'll have no problem.
