Scarlett, have a fantastic trip! I haven't been to Portland - we look forward to hearing all about it. Do you want us to e-mail Pup while you're away so he won't get lonely?

Awww, you guys are so nice

Pup will be busy, he has 2 greyhounds and a Persian cat with an attitude to keep him company and my daughter lets him sleep with her..He might not want to come home ! ((&))

There is a dear lady who posts once in a while on Fodors, who has been my efriend for years now- I will finally get to have dinner / lunch and a good long chat with her and her family so I am even more excited about this trip

Scarlett, if you head to any of the wineries just west of portland on hwy 99 call JK Carrier and see if Jim's around to give you a taste. They just released the 2002, what is being billed as the best pinot noir year, and expect to completely sell out by the end of the year!

And let me tell you that man is easy on the eyes as well as making a great bottle of wine!

Cigalechanta, I agree with you! But I didn't make it up, here is a quote:

"So we decided to take advantage of an offer we had gotten some time ago, we are going to Hell."

and this is where I got it from:

Scarlett, I can relate. When we go off-island, my pups stay with my best friend and they get mighty spoiled up there with sleeping in the bed every night. Then, they come home and want to do the same thing!

I now have the dilemma of going to MIA in a week and DH might not be home by that time. Best friend will be with me and I have nowhere to leave the pups.

Maybe my two can stay with Tate?

How could you possibly leave when Jeanne is coming to dinner! Have a good time. Weather should be improving at the end of the week.

Hi Scarlett! Have the BEST time! Any chance you're including a side trip to spectacular Crater Lake?

Dear Scarlett- If you happen to eat at Paley's tell Kim Paley the woman from Hawaii with the dancing daughters says hi! (that's me, LOL).

If you eat the chocolate mousse, please think of me...it was absolutely my favorite dessert anywhere, ever!

I know you'll have fun! You've got a good Portland attitude.

Bon voyage & Vaya con dio,

Lucy

Scarlett, have a great trip. I'm so jealous you're escaping hurricane hell. I know it's been a tough howdeedoo for you in your first year in Florida so this is a well deserved break (you get big points from me for shoe shopping while everyone else was freaking over Frances).

I know you will have a great time, Scarlett, since a little busy bird let me know that you've been shopping big time in preparation for this trip! Have fun, glamour girl!

LOL, shoe shopping and the Cosmetics counter have saved my sanity many a time, just ask the Yankee ~
dln, I am an amateur compared to your France shopping sprees

I will be going to Paleys and I promise to have the chocolate mousse, My Pleasure! and I will say hello from the mama in Hawaii with the dancin daughters..( I used to have one of those too )
We are planning a couple of days out- Cannon Beach, the Gorge and why not - Crater Lake!
We will do as much as possible then come back again for more~ Thank you all~

Crater Lake is way down in Southern Oregon, Scarlett! That may be just a bit too far!

If you go to the Gorge, the Columbia Gorge Hotel is a beautiful place to walk around if you like that kind of thing. They also serve very good food at their restaurant there. Bon Voyage! ***kim***
