Haven't been, but here's Frommer's take on the city:

http://www.frommers.com/destinations/boise/

Check out "Attractions" and "Active Pursuits" in particular.

Very fun city. Go to the Farmer's Market, take a drive out of town, hit a few of their wine bars. You will want to go back.

Boise State has a bright blue football field. It freaks out their opponents. You get a 404 error if you try the link above.

I was in Boise over Memorial Day weekend, here are a few places I enjoyed:
Table Rock - drive to the top for great views of Boise
Flying Pie pizza - really intersting pizza combos
Indian Creek winery - great wine tasting and cheese plate
Epi's - Basque restaurant in nearby Meridian, excellent food, great staff, highly suggest making a reservation especially if going on a Friday night
Malad Gorge / Craters of the Moon park
Owyhee Mountains and Silver City

Lots to see and do especially if you like beautiful scenary!

I do like beautiful scenery...any drives in particular you can recommend? Also, what about horseback riding or white water rafting...we are open to stuff within a two hour radius of the city.

vbarone,

The Snake River is nearby and has incredible rapids.

Boise is a nice small city and has great mountains north of town.

Mai Thai, if you like Thai, is good. There are many other restaurants nearby.
