What's the big deal if your A B or C! You still get on the plane! I really like it when your at your gate at South West people are sitting on the floor in the line so they can be first. We live in such a world of ME ME first! The $5. service fee is a Rip Off And how do they give you your boarding pass any way if you do not have a computer at hand?

While its not a BIG deal where I sit on the plane, when I have an opportunity to get on earlier and chose I do so. Its not hard to get the A pass 24 hrs in advance of my flights so I do it. I don't go to the extremem of showing up early so I can be first in line to board. I'm usually the last one in A to board but it still gets me on the plane to chose a seat before 2/3 of the other passengers.

I guess some people have not sat in a middle seat on a 4+ hour flight like MHT-LAS or PHL-LAX.

BTW,

If the flight is at 11:00AM on day one, can I get the BP on line starting only at 11:00AM on the previous day or do I have to wait till 11:01AM to get it? What happen if I get on line at 00:01AM the day before or do I have to wait exactly 24h before my flight time?

jet29......24 hours prior..So if your flight is 11.00am Saturday, you can go online @ 11.00am Friday, adjusted for any difference in time zones.

Actually, if it's over about 3 3/4 hours, we fly Business or First.

Well congratulations MIkemo, from all of us "trash class" posters at Fodors.

Good thing you can afford to fly first class and that you will never feel the need to fly a cheap airline.

And your helpful advice is?

Didn't realize how "trashy" I was. I actually prefer flying on Southwest. In fact, leaving tomorrow for a weeklong trip. Who would've thought?

Southwest is my favorite too. Cheap, cheap, cheap and the flight crew always has a sense of humor which seems to be lacking in the bankrupt biggies. Direct flights to my favorite destinations and I've earned two free tickets in the past seven months!

I have had great service always on the Southwest flights I've taken. Lately they had a much better on-time record than competitors flying the same routes (Seattle/San Fran for example).
