I agree with the above poster that you probably won't want to do the entire trip on the BRPway. As beautiful as it is, it does get a bit tedious with the slow speed and winding roads. I drove the above stretch in Jan. and it was beautiful. I'd access the BRPW link for ideas of which stretches I'd want to drive and then get on and off for things I wanted to see off the road. Definitely do Skyline Drive. In the Carolinas, get off to go into Boone and Asheville. Enjoy the trip!

gbhost, when this trip is finished, post a trip report, if you will. We are doing same journey in mid-June, but northward, getting on around Asheville, and spending a few days enroute to Washington. We will have two grandsons, 16 and 15, so getting on/getting off choices will be important.

Remember--the drive is limited access so watch your gas gauge!!
