Friend of mine in Philly was supposed to fly USAir today to San Diego for a conference. All the non USAir flights his colleagues were taking were canceled but USAir insisted he come in, that the flight was "definitely" going to take off. Drove down in the snow to the airport, sat at the gate for over two hours past the scheduled departure time (that is, a total of nearly 4 hours of hanging around)...flight canceled. He's rescheduled to fly tomorrow morning.

It's 82 here in Los Angeles. However, a bunch of friends of mine are in NYC on vacation and were supposed to go to a Broadway show this afternoon. I haven't heard from them. Hopefully, the theatres didn't close. I looked at one of the Livecams in Time Square and plenty of folks are walking around.

I am so envious of you folks getting snow. Just got off the phone with my mom who lives in Maryland near the PA / Del line--they've had 13 inches of snow so far

BT and we wonder why US AIr has problems? They are the local airlines in PHL. Home base. Usually they are pretty good pulling themselves out of Bankruptcy but still disorganized at times. Your friend is lucky to be going to S.D I am sure they will be up and running very soon. My son left out of JFK for Israel last night at midnight. I was surprised they got out!! Very surprised!!

Should be interesting to watch the news tonight. Those network anchors always act like snow on the E. Coast is so much more important than anywhere else! Not that a foot to two feet isn't pretty impressive! I still have fond memories of Chicago's 27-inch blizzard, back in....'66? '67? That hassle went on for weeks and weeks....

I live outside Philadelphia. We got 18 inches. As much as I hate shoveling out, it brings the neighborhood together when we're all out there helping each other.

Here in northwest Jersey, we got about 12"-15" of snow...
After shoveling out we got bored and put on our bathing suits and took pictures outside in our lawn chairs with a beer and sunglasses and sent them to our southern relatives and friends... maybe they'll take pity on us.....

Just returned from my daily walk here in Nortwest Montana. Temp is 36 degrees and sunny.
Hardly any snow on the ground here in the valley but LOTS in the mountains. Great skiing, snowshoeing etc!

Yep - pretty nice outside here in SJ. Washed the car, did some gardenning, hung the sheets out to dry in the sun. It wont last though - a cold front is coming in. By Thursday we aren't even supposed to get into the 60s.

I lived in southern cal for a while. The seasons were:

75 and sun
70 and sun
65 and gray
70 and partial sun

I need variety too..... thank goodness for blizzards (as long as everyone is safe!)
