Black Hawk, CO - Any decent hotels and/or buffets?
My DH and I will take a swing through Black Hawk/Central City after the scenic drive from Idaho Springs. We are not gamblers so not sure if we will stay there. It depends on what else we do that day and what time we get there. Wondering if there are any decent hotels and buffet dinners there for a night.

Me again. By scenic highway, I mean the "Oh-My-Gawd" rd from Idaho Springs to Central City which is recommended in my guide book. Have done other rds in the area before and also know RMNP Trail Ridge rd will be closed when we are there mid May. Is the OMG rd open in mid May? If we do this, it would probably be late afternoon which is why I was wondering about accommodations in Black Hawk just for the nt. Thanks all.

I haven't driven the OMG road in several years, but the last time I did, it was fine and people were doing it in just regular passenger cars.
You don't have to gamble to stay in Blackhawk or Central City, but both towns have become overrun with casinos and gambling. Many of the big casinos offer decent lodging and buffets. I can't say whether one is better than the other. Blackhawk is especially inundated with gamblers coming up by the busloads from the Denver metro area virtually every day.
