Black flies on Cape Cod? When?

Black flies on Cape Cod? When?
I'm planning to have a wedding on Cape Cod in late June, and I heard that there were black flies during one part of the summer. The wedding will hopefully be on or near the water (bay, ocean) so I wasn't sure if this was going to effect us.

I think the black flies come along with the humidity and that would be August. They seem to be a bigger problem on the north side of the Cape (the bay side.) You have picked our premier month and the roses are in full bloom along with the rosa rugosa along the beaches. Many happy returns.
