black and white cookies

Staying a few days in NYC in the theatre district. Dying for the taste of a good black and white cookie of my youth. The hermetically sealed cookies I've sampled on past trips back home have not done the trick. Any black and white experts out there with suggestions.

Pick-A-Bagel on the corner of 57th & Seventh Avenue has excellent B&Ws. I know because I'm a connoisseur.

Thanks for the quick response GoTravel. Hard to argue with a connoisseur. Centrally located to my stay, and just enough of a walk to justify the cookie calories. Thanks also to rb traveler for the additional and collaborating threads. Mildred

Mildred, they also have excellent sandwiches, muffins and other baked goods.

I can say with confidence they are probably the third best bagel joint in Manhattan behind Ess-A-Bagel and H&H Bagels.

Thanks lfm1955 - didn't remember the Carnegie being so close. Been way too long since I had great deli. My menu now seems complete.

Thanks all for your directions and advice. Mildred

I haven't had the cookies at Pick A Bagel, but the ones at Zabars are pretty wonderful, and Zabars is worth a look-see anyway.

tina, it is a rather large cookie (usually 5 inches across) that has a white cake like consistency that has chocolate/fudge icing on one half and smooth white icing on the other half.
