birthday bars w/dancing
Hey, I'm taking my friend to the city for her 23rd birthday and I was wondering if anyone knew of any good bars where we can get drinks for a good price, dance to hip-hop and r&b, and have a lot of fun meeting new people.

There are lots of bars around Ohio State University. But since you want in the village, there are also some fun spots there -- German Village on the south side of Columbus.
That is the city and the village you were talking about, right? Or were we supposed to guess something else?

jil, when you click New York for your post, that means later if someone specifically clicks on New York, they will get your post, but generally the posts themselves all come up under US, not in separate areas, so the usual reader here doesn't have any idea where you're talking about.
Sure would have shocked me if you DID mean Columbus -- just kidding you to make a point.
Sorry I'm too old to hip-hop, sometimes I can barely walk-walk.

I'll play devil's advocate here. Although of course the poster will have much more response by putting NYC in the subject, if you don't know that a person is asking about New York when they refer to "the city", specifically "the villiage", I humbly suggest you won't be able to help this person anyway. Sure the "usual reader" might not know what you are talking about, but someone who knows NYC sure will.......
