Biltmore itinerary for 4-day stay at The Inn
My husband and I are celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary in May at the Biltmore Inn in Ashville for 4 days. I was hoping to find detailed itineraries that we could use as a basis for doing what interests us on our stay. I've scoured the fodor threads and found good suggestions: (get an early start, picnicking on the lagoon, carriage ride, 2-hour introduction class to fly-fishing, the behind the scenes and rooftop tours, etc.). I just need help arranging everything. Any ideas? Thanks.

Lots to do In Asheville. Visit the Appalachian Craft shop just off the Parkway. Drive down the Parkway on a clear day and maybe have lunch at the Pisgah Inn.
Our adult kids really enjoyed the behind the scenes/ rooftop tour.
I don't know the fly fishing outfitters in Asheville but if you are interested in doing it i would suggest at least a half day trip. May should be a good time!

Here's my 2019 TR for ideas away from Biltmore; we had all visited the home but did attend a wine tasting and dinner at a separate building on the Biltmore grounds:

Drive a short distance on the Blue Ridge Parkway and either drive or hike up Mt. Mitchell—the tallest mountain east of the Mississippi River (at 6,684’) or drive southwest to Mt. Pisgah (5,749’); explore Great Smoky Mts. National Park, the most popular national park. Wander around the North Carolina Arboretum; listen to mountain or folk music; check out the Folk Art Center; Explore the cool neighborhood of The Block (between Eagle St. and East End).

Hi Gretchen,
I seriously considered the Rooftop Tour because my husband's hobby is photography and I'm sure the views are wonderful. I changed my mind when I found out it was 300 stairsteps with no elevator. I thought the Backstairs Tour was more doable.
He nixed the fishing excursion (whew!) but your other suggestions sound good. Thank you for responding.

Here is a Garden anD Gun Google search for Asheville that will provide a LOT of info for you. G&G is a wonderful magazine for southern "stuff" if you don't know of it.
