Best Wedding Cake, San Francisco Bay Area
I am in the happy position of helping select a wedding cake in the Bay Area.
We are looking for a really delicious, but simply decorated, multi-tiered white cake.
Does anyone have advice or suggestions for bakeries? We are open to places in SF, Berkeley, even Napa, if they can deliver.
Thanks!

What's your budget? There are many, many bakeries who will be very happy to help you out. Try Dianda's on Mission Street near 25th for an Italian style cake, Beaux Gateaux Wedding Cakes on Van Ness, or try Yelp.com:

City of D'Lights in San Ramon http://cityofdlights.com/index2.html. We used them for my son's wedding, his open house and bridal shower. My friend uses them for any special occasions (it's the only place she will get cakes for special events) and my nephew used them for his wedding cake and they delivered it to San Francisco. Their cakes are not only beautiful but have always been fresh and great tasting. If you are willing to drive to Napa, then San Ramon won't be to far.

You might like to add Victoria Pastry in North Beach http://www.victoriapastry.com/store/...asp?catid=1277 to your list. We use them frequently for event cakes and they do deliver for free in SF.

Thank-you so much! We have an appointment this weekend with Beaux Gateaux.
I have called Dianda's and Victoria Pastry. I hadn't heard of City of D'Lights.
The wedding is in Benicia, and the budget is pretty high if the cake is really good!
We had a cake tasting at a top rated place, and we thought the cake was awful. We're not really picky, but we want a cake that you take a forkful, and it tastes heavenly.
I'm glad to have some Fodor's experts give their advice!
