best town in Blue Ridge for 4th July holiday?

Hi everyone,

I am not American and I will be visiting the USA during the summer. Me and my whole family will be in the Blue Ridge and Great Smokies area. As this is the first time I go to the USA during the summer, I was wondering which is the best city or small town to spen the 4th of july holiday. Thanks.

P.S. I have three small kids, ages 8, 5 and 3.

How about Blue Ridge, GA?

I think almost every small town will be having the kind of 4th of July parade and festivities you are thinking about. Don't know that one is "best".

A few other possibilities are:

Hendersonville, NC (it's a nice small town, and they will have a 4th of July celebration with fireworks, as will nearly every other small town in the mountains).

Thanks to all replies so far! I've been in Hendersonville several years ago when I went to the Great Smokies. I will consider it again. Other cities that are on my route are Blowing Rock, Banner Elk and Boone. Do you think that larger towns like Gatlinburg and Pidgeon Forge would be nice to spend the holiday or should I look elsewhere?

Gatlinburg sounds like it might be fun for the family. It goes from Midnight until dark the next day. Parade, regatta of unusal boats and fireworks at dark that night.

Pigeon Forge has a celebration too.

Have fun!

How small town do you have in mind? Is Asheville too large? Consider Brevard. Wonderful town to visit
