I went to NYC last year in late March and the weather was terrific. It had been cold before my visit, but it warmed up nicely. The sun was out, the flowers were beginning to bloom - plenty of flowering trees and bulbs in central park - and the weather was perfect for walking.

I live in NYC. I think May is the perfect time to visit. Summer weather is sometimes lovely and sometimes very hot and humid. You might want to try the Doubletree Guest Suites near Times Square. Although I have not stayed at this hotel it has gotten excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. I have stayed at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square and enjoyed it. I have found that whenever doing the typical tourist things, it is best to get an early start and arrive whenever an attraction opens. Be sure to visit the dinosaur exhibit at the Museum of Natural History. I am sure your kids will love it. I hope you enjoy your trip.

Don't go in May!!!
We're having enuff trouble finding a decent hotel room!
If I don't show, B'man will kill me because he'd have too much wine leftover from the GTG!
Last May we got a weather smorgasbord.
Cold rain...hot humid and "poifect" in the 8 days we were there.
We went in April one year and one day we almost froze off our okeoles and then the next we were in shorts and walked all the way from Battery Park up to our hotel that was near CentPark.
