Best time to Visit Hawaii?
Thinking about going to Hawaii next year and can go anytime between end of May to end of September. Would like to see at least 4 islands. Which month would be the best for weather and events?
Thanks...

Personally I would say go as late in September as you can. There are fewer people around than in summer, you can find good deals, and just maybe get lucky with an early swell on the North Shore of Oahu. I'd also say to avoid June and late August. It gets mobbed from families taking vacation just after school lets out/goes back in.

We are going to Kauai the last week in September, after spending the first week in September there last year. It's a FABULOUS time to be there - no kids, lots of shops offering end of season discounts, not as hot as summer time. It's always warm enough to swim in Hawaii!
Don't go to more than 2 islands if you're not going for more than a week! The best part about Hawaii is laying on the beach or by the pool relaxing and you won't get to do that if you are running from airport to hotel to airport, etc.

I love late May and Late September for less crowds and great weather and surf conditions....unless of course you're a proffessional surfer! Something to be very aware of is September is the best month for resorts to do maintenance on thier pools. Ask ahead of time if there is any scheduled maintenance on the properties you choose. And for me personally, less is more as far as island hopping. Good luck!

We have been in July and in November. We enjoyed it both times, but loved it in Nov. Back home it was rainy and cold...we were laying on the beach and snorkelling. Plus we got lots of xmas shopping done while we were there. We went the week before Thanksgiving. Next year we are going the last week in March...anyone been there that time of year that can let me know how crowded it is at that time?

gyppielou-Thanks for the mention about the pool maintenance! I also always check with hotels to make sure they are not doing major renovations at the time as well because that can really "ruin" a vacation. If the room rate is really cheap at a top hotel, it's usually because they are doing renovation work and still want to keep the hotel "full".

We always go after Labor Day and have been there into mid November and always have nice weather without the crowds. Don't go June, July, August it is so crowded as you can see from the posts on this website. February all the snowbirds come from Canada and getting a place to stay gets a little difficult.
