Best time to visit Disney World
We are planning a trip to Disney World, 4 adults and 2 children. When is the park the least busy for line ups. We have the choice of Nov. or Feb.
Also for accommodations we are looking at renting a 3 bedroom condo. Could those people who have stayed in condos in the area please respond as to where they stayed and their experience?
Is is wise to book the condo in advance or wait until we get there to find what we want?
Thank you so much for any info that you can provide.

The beginning part of November would not be too bad, especially if you stay away from weekends. The closer you get to Thanksgiving, the more crowded the park will be. February can be a little cold weather wise. Condos are great, at least the experiences we have had with them, and you should ALWAYS book reservations in advance any time you go to the Disney World area. I hope you and your family have a wonderful time.

We went to Disney in February 6 years ago. It was our first trip and was wonderful. We had several snow storms and nasty winter weather here - got off the plane there to balmy weather, green grass, and flowers everywhere. I think it was Birnbaums guide I used and that was incredible. told us the least crowded days and times for all the attractions -- and it was right! We never had a long wait at all. Enjoy!

Either date would be good. Attendance has been down this year because of recession. I recommend you check http://go2orlando.com for deals on accommodations, there are fantastic deals available. also check out www.wdwig.com, Deb Wills unofficial guide site, EXCELLENT for lots of tips, and hotel / restaurant reviews of on-property hotels. Booking in advance will make sure you get what you want, but there are lots of hotels with availability in the area.

The best website to learn anything and everything about Disney is the unofficial Disney website. The address is disboards.com
They have great input on all the parks, all accomodations and it is a discussion forum like this one except that it is totally related to Disney.

We have also visited Disney in the Spring. We had no trouble walking up to attractions & not having to wait very long. We would also recommend using the "FastPass" system, where if an attraction does seem to have a wait, you could swipe your daypass, and it will give you a window of time to come back & walk right in (usually about an hour's window). There's no additonal charge for this, by the way; just watch people doing it or read the directions! And as far as lodging - by all means, unless you want to stay in a less-than-desirable place, make reservations!!! We have had better prices staying off-property - all the parks are in close proximity to tons of lodging, usually with free buses to the attactions. (You do have more freedom renting a car). The areas of Kissimmee and Buena Vista are "right there" for any rooms - try floridakiss.com for info on room rates, etc.

Arlene,
We just went for a week at WDW this past Feb (fourth thru the eleventh). It was great. At one point, we were the only people (my family of three) on the Disney transportation bus-at about three o'clock in the afternoon. The weather was perfect. We even went swimming (outdoors-at the All-Star Movies) two days while we were there. The only downside was the waterparks were closed for some seasonal repairs, but we didn't miss them at all.

If you do make plans for Feb, keep in mind the first half of the month is much quieter than the second half. Once you hit President's Day Week-end, attendance starts to perk up, and right after that, spring break season starts. The lines won't be as big as they are in high season, but they won't be as small as they were early Feb. or November.

Early November would probably have fewer people and lower prices than February, although early February will still not be too crowded. Because more people want to go to Florida in the winter and holidays, the prices go down for accommodations the first two weeks in November, the first two weeks in December, and then again in January. Prices start going up slowly again in February.

February will be great, but be out of there by the 15th. Not only is the Holiday the 18th, but many children have school vacation the following week. Early February may be cool, or you could get a couple excellent swimming days during the week. Think layers! (Frost is not uncommon in the a.m., yet it is very warm in the afternoon!) Early November is generally warmer, and not busy either, and it is also quiet early December. These are the three times we've brought our family, and it makes a huge difference. In the mornings especially, you can get off a ride and hop right back on for a second go-round! FastPass is also a great new innovation for the popular rides; you schedule a return time while you go off and do something without a long line!
Have fun! And thanks for coming.
