Best spots to visit in the Midwest

Quick answers only:

What is the best place you've ever visited in the Midwest?

(I'll define the Midwest as follows: Ohio west to Nebraska, Missouri north to Minnesota, and everything in between).

For me, the answer is: Petosky - Harbor Springs, Michigan.

The north shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota.

Also, the UP of Mich.

Agree with Ron - for sheer natural beauty, the UP all the way.

South Bass Island in Ohio. It's like another world, quaint, charming.

Definitely Chicago. It is a very cosmopolitan city with great restaurants, culture, architecture, and plenty of great beaches along Lake Michigan. It reminds me of New York City.

Just to make sure you know, you do NOT want to go to Gary, IN. I definitely vote for Chicago! It's one of the all time best cities! Door County is great as well. MN & WI are the way to go if you want to take in nature.
