Best side of ship??

Taking a North to South Alaska Cruise - one would assume that a balcony room on the left side of the ship is best as it faces land versus the Ocean. Is this an accurate assumption??

For some portions, yes; for others, it makes little difference since during those "passage" segments there is land full of trees on BOTH sides.

Just nitpicking here, but there is no left or right side of a ship.

It is portside or starboard.

Enjoy your cruise!

IF you are cruising College Fjords and Glacier Bay, the definate side to get is port. Assuming you want to glacier view from your cabin??? Starboard has no views on the way in when all the stops are made and commentary.
