Hello, Hope it's not too late, but I have had good seafood meals in the past at Jake's. Also, for the view and the food Atwater's on top of the bank building. A bit expensive but if you're on an expense acct...?!?!?
Beautiful view of Portland and the surrounding areas.

Jake's is really overrated. I have yet to have a good meal there, seafood or not. I would recommend going to any of the top restaurants in town, all will have excellent seafood. Great seafood is a given in Portland, what's more important is the restaurant's reputation. The "best" restaurant's in town IMP are Genoa, Paley's Place, and Wildwood.

I ate at Jake's Famous Crawfish House (401 SW 12th Avenue) twice last month---be careful not to confuse it with 2 other places-- Jake's Grill @ 611 SW 10th Ave(a steak house with lots of seafood, also a good place) and Jake's Place @ 8039 SE 17th avenue. I don't think these places are related.
While I've only been there twice, Jake's Crawfish ranks as the best place I've had seafood anywhere including New England and all of the Northwest. I'd go back again!

I'd have to agree with Mike, I think Jake's is overrated. Basically, it's an "old boys" restaurant with a snobby wait staff and unimaginative menu. If you want true NW food (great salmon!) checkout Wildwood over on NW 23rd. Genoa is also fabulous (7 course Italian), but very expensive.
