Best "room" at Lake Crescent Lodge

At Lake Crescent Lodge in Olympic National Park, which is the better room, a Marymere motel-type room right on the lake, or a one-bedroom Singer Tavern Cottage? Which one is closer to the lake? Which one is closer to the main lodge? How far apart are they? -- our daughter & family plans to stay in a Singer Tavern 2-bedroom cottage, while we currently have reservations for a Marymere room. We're wondering if we should change to a Singer Tavern Cottage...

Stick with your Marymere room--it is right on the lake. We have been trying to book a room there for years, with no success.

The Singer Tavern Cottages are set farther back from the lake.

Marymere is a very short walk from the main building.

Count your blessings.

Last night in the dining room I had the Cioppino--a good choice ($22). My companion had the halibut, which was mushy and with little flavor ($28).

The short, easy hike to Marymere Falls is a favorite. It takes about 30 minutes each way.

Thank you; that's very helpful information.
Has anyone else stayed at Lake Crescnet Lodge? Any/all comments would be greatly appreciated!!
