Love New Mexico area but felt the level of poverty throughout that state was so depressing..people were not so happy either..maybe from the socio-economic issues.
Santa Fe, well I have never liked that place and Albq...couldn't wait to get out of there.
Wife likes Taos but agrees with me on the sheer beauty of NM but could never retire there because of the cold during the winter..I do so much love the nature part of it.
We are looking at a townhome in Taos and have addressed these issues.
Is it me, or do people when they get old want to hassle with the snow and the $$ to heat the house and inactivity that one has to stay inside when it is snowing?
Wife and I are avid skiers and golfers too but find seniors that are active, live in communties that have no snow or very little.
