Best place for Ferry Ride?

Can anyone recommend a good place for an over-the-top ferry ride? I'm not talking your average trip here. I want a full-blown, head spinning, 360 degree view that'll bring me to the brink! I've tried a couple of ferries in NYC, but they were so so. Thanks in advance for any info.

I guess it depends on what you want to see. The Bremerton Ferry out of Seattle on a clear day (with view of Mt. Ranier) is spectacular. All of the ferry's on Puget Sound offer beautiful views (Anacortes through the San Juan Islands to Victoria, BC)as do the Canadian Ferrys, especially from Vancouver to Nanaimo or the exceptional (again,depending on the weather) trip from Port Hardy on Vancouver Island up to Prince Rupert.

The BC Ferry from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert, through the Inside Passage;

The Alaska State Ferry from Valdez to Whittier;

The Tiburon ferry to San Francisco;

The Silja Line from Finland to Sweden;

The old standby, Calais to Dover. Bluebirds over White Cliffs and all that.

Short but very nice, especially at night, Toronto to any of the Toronto Islands.

1. Any of the San Francisco Bay ferries. Views of Alcatraz, Angel Island, etc.

2. Personal favorite of mine - ferry from Kagoshima City in southern Japan to Sakurajima. You are heading straight for an huge, still-active volcano. You can't take your eyes off it!
