Best kid-friendly dinner buffet in Las Vegas

We'll be in Vagas, March 2002 for a few days with our kids. Any recommendation for good family buffets or other recommendation for families (kids are 10 & 13). We'll be staying at the Mirage.

You can bring the kids to any of the buffets, but you should look into the ones that offer half price or discounted prices for kids. They tend to be less adventurous than the adults when it comes to food, and it is going to end up costing you more than it is worth. You may be better off in places where they just order what they want off the menu. That said, you could try the Aladdin, I believe they offer a discount on some days. By the way, the Excaliber has a jousting show that includes dinner and is fairly reasonable. The food is so-so, but they will be having so much fun eating with their fingers and drinking soup out of a tin cup that they won't even notice. There is also a game room downstairs. Bring plenty of quarters.

The Mirage is the best place to stay with the kids.

I think Circus Circus is the traditional kid place to go, but these days they'll probably love looking at the crazy architecture of the Venetian, New York New York (especially if you're from NYC! The "Coney Island" part has a lot of games they might like), the Paris and the Aladdin.

Vegas is a totally different place from what it was even 10 years ago.

In terms of good family buffets, I remember the Excalibur having a lot of kids in it, but most of the food in the hotel buffets are all-American and kid-friendly.

Oh, and don't forget the Stratosphere. I never went, but from what I understand there are a lot of games to be played up there.

You may want to get out of town and check out the Hoover Dam -- it's pretty impressive.

There should be plenty of stuff to fill a few day's time. Oh, and there's always the pool.

While not nearly as good as it used to be, you might still want to consider the World Buffet at the Rio for a late lunch. There are plenty of food stations for the kids to choose from, including burgers, hot dogs and pizza. And while you're at the Rio, you could check out the free Mardi Gras show.

Ignore the idiots. Vegas is a thriving city and as such has MANY children who live there, and, guess what, they sometimes go out to eat with their parents. My kids were very young when we went and they loved the Excalibur. My nephew (who lived there) was 16 and loved the Ceasar's buffet. Of course this was 4 years ago.

Excalibur for a 13 year old?
Jousting show?
All the 13 year old boys in my neighborhood are already into hanging out, girls, and trying to be 21.
They wouldn't be caught dead at a jousting show.
