The Westins have "Heavenly Beds" which is why people rave about them.
The bed I found to be the most comfortable was at the Hard Rock Hotel (a Loew's Hotel) in Orlando. The mattress was just right and it had a wonderful comforter.

We have a pillow top mattress so hotel rooms often don't stand up to our bed. In my opinion, the best bed in New York City is at The Muse; it was so nice we laid in it and raved. The best bed in Seattle is at the Willow Inn; it also has a great shower and a soaking tub. I never use the tub, but it looked so inviting and I had jet lag, so I put in some bath salts and it was so relaxing. It was great. In the Los Angeles area, we liked the bed at the Hermosa Inn; another bed that you climbed in and went, oh this is great.

schmerl, not all Westins are "heavenly"--the one at SFO airport was rather crummy, in fact, and the nice linens on the bed didn't elevate matters much.
Anyway, best beds in my experience: the Inn at the Market in Seattle, which has those Swedish foam mattresses (fun to try, very comfy) and nice linens and duvets with CLEAN COVERS, hallelujah (though we had to ask for better pillows, having been given sorry pancake pillows at first); and the Michelangelo in NYC, for fluffy scented everything.
The shower in the Michelangelo is my fave so far, as the bath as a whole was huge and splendid. I HATE showers that won't drain properly, and so many hotel tubs don't.
As you can tell, I haven't experienced the uppermost echelons of hotel luxury, and would be curious indeed just how nice beds and showers can get!

Little Palm Island - Upper Keys, Florida!! Not only did you have a luxury tiki hut w/ a large mosquito-netted sleigh bed w/ separate living room and bath, BUT you also had a private OUTDOOR SHOWER w/ a nozzle that was so large, you felt as if you were under a waterfall in a rainforest. The body gel/soap that is made exclusively for their resort smells of mango and coconuts - leaving you fully refreshed and wanting to stay forever....but at $600/ night it's not that easy.

I agree with the bed and bathrooms at Sundara in WI. They were nice.
But!
The beds and baths at Mirbeau in upstate NY were incredible. All Frette linens on the bed, frette bathrobes, deep soaking claw footed tub, and a tiled walk in shower with a shower head as big as a salad dish! They even give you Essential Elements shampoo, etc..
It was the best!
