Hi, we had lunch a couple of weeks ago at Zest in the Intercontinental Hotel on Michigan. Decorations were gorgeous. You could request a table overlooking the huge tree in the lobby. Food was great.
The Drake is known for it's beautiful holidy decor, although I didn't see it this year. I also love Atwood Cafe in the Hotel Burnham in the Loop. Nice view of the State Street hustle and bustle.
Have a great time!

I love the Drake for tea, the lobby is always nice and they have carolers at certain times during the holiday tea.
I don't recall the Palmer House having a lot of decorations last year, however, if you've never seen the lobby, it's one of my favorites.
I enjoy wandering around the Intercontinental even when it's not the holidays, the upper floor banquet rooms have a King Arthur theme on one level and a Spanish/Moorish theme on another.
I thought the tree at Macy's this year was the worst ever, I found a picture of it online here
