Huh? Why would asking for good fish and chips sound like a terrorist sympathizer???
Do you criticize people looking for good pasta?

I can't imagine what would happen if I asked for a good Lebanese resturant ....

Ignore him/her/it, once the mods return on monday I'm sure it will be sorted out.

I don't know about fish and chips, but there is a great little place in Seattle called pies and pints that serves British style meat pies, I ate there when I was visiting Seattle last winter, it was quite good.

We loved Anthony's fish bar which is across the street from the waterfront Marriott. Wonderful fish and chips (salmon or cod)!

LuvTravel has suggested the best source for fish and chips in Seattle that I know of.

Anthony's is a local chain of seafood restaurants, and their Fish Bar at Pier 66 has great outdoor waterfront seating.

Next door is Anthony's Bell Street Diner--another good place with many reasonably priced items on the menu. At lunch, I like the cioppino and Caesar salad combo ($10.95). (Cioppino, in case you don't know, is a fish stew in a spicy tomato base.) The Bell Stree Diner also offers great fish tacos, rice bowls, salads, etc.

If you want to sit down and be served, Bell Street Diner is for you.

Ivars is the place I like they have many places . The one on the waterfront downtown is fun because you can sit outside and watch all the boats and the people ( totally casual) or the older one on Lake Union is really nice also inside and outside seating.

THE best is Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar in the Pike Place Market. It's down a side hallway off the main street near the original Starbucks. Look for the signs on the main sidewalk pointing the way. It has been around forever and is excellent. Nice patio too.

MMMMM I love Emmett Watson's too. I always think of them for Oysters and kinda forget they have other things.

Watch out of local oysters. They are usually wonderful, but this year they are making people sick as far away and NYC.

Ivar's has always been my favorite. They have locations all over... but the one on the waterfront is busy, but fun. For a little more of a serious menu, there is the fancier Ivar's Salmon House right next to the more casual kiosk.

Sorry, but Spuds on Alki is simply the best fish in Seattle! Their hand-cut fries are also out of this world!

If you can't find a place to park on Alki, there is also a Spuds on Green Lake.

For the best over-all experience, please don't overlook Anthony's Fish Bar at Pier 66.

Regardless of the name, you don't have to have oysters at Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar. They have excellent fish & chips, shrimp & chips, chowders and soups, salads and sandwich, beer and wine, in a fun funky old-timey atmosphere.
