best blackjack games

going to vegas Dec 14-19 with wife and have heard different casinos have different odds at blackjack. Heard Paris casino has great rooms worst casino game odds.

Who has the best? Just looking for an even chance. Looking to have fun. Narrowed hotel to Mandalay Bay and Paris.

Well, you won't find an "even chance". If you count cards and play perfectly, then they say that you could actually gain an advantage. That would be a lot of work, though.

They might use different numbers of card decks. Most blackjack games use shoes of 7 decks (I think), so it is hard to count. Some places used to play with one deck. There's not much of a chance to vary the payoff in blackjack without changing the game. They pay even money for a winning hand. Usually 3 to 2 for a blackjack, but they might short you there.

In craps, some tables show the odds on the bets. There are two ways to state odds, e.g. for the yo bet it usually says "15 to 1". It means the house is putting up 15 unites (next) "to" each one of yours, so there are 16 units for the winner (you or the house).

If it says "15 for 1", then it means they will put up 15 units in exchange for your 1. Give them your 1 and the put up 15 for the winner. It's the same as 14 to 1, a lower payout.

I don't know why I wrote all that, just trying to make a point I guess. I think that for you (or me) that the difference won't really matter.

I'm no blackjack expert, but the rules vary more than stated above, allowing casinos to further tilt the odds toward the house or the player.
Different casinos have different rules as to whether dealer must hit or stand on 17 (hit on soft 17 is typical in downtown LV while standing on all 17's is typical on the Strip), when players can double down (yes after a split vs. no), how many cards can be drawn on an ace after splitting, whether or not re-splitting is allowed, blackjack payoffs, how many decks are used, when the shoes are closed out, etc.

In general, the older and less desirable the casino, the more favorable the rules are for the player. Some of the old, run down downtown casinos offer the best odds of all.

All the data is here:

Basically, the best game in town is a single deck at Binion's. The thing is, you're at Binions. Caesars and Bellagio both have double deck games that are almost as good and you can get better drink service there. At Bellagio, you'll have to play min $25 to get those rules. Caesars suppossedly has good $5/10 tables but I haven't played BJ there. I usually play Bellagio, Binions, and Monte Carlo because MC usually have a decent $5 game available. I'be played at Binions and found the pit bosses to be jerks but the dealers are very friendly. I play at Harrah's sometimes in the "Party Pit" when I'n with the wife but the rules are bad, but their very friendly to new players. Paris has terrible odds, Mandalay will require at least $25 to get decent odds, even so, last time I was there, CSM's (shuffling machines) were in heavy use.

I recently played a game that I love call 3 Card Poker. How are the odds at this game compared to Blackjack? Personally, I won a lot more at 3 Card Poker....luck or better odds?

Odds at 3 card poker are medicore (3-8% house edge depending on how you play). The Binions single deck game is a .12% house edge. Most strip blackjack games are around .5-.7% house edge in comparison.
