Best Area of SFO to Stay for Rental Car Pickup

What area of SF is the most convient to stay to be close to a rental car agency?
We will take the Bart from the airport to hotel as we do not need a car until the 4th day as we are going on a tour to Yosemite the first 2 days.

There are several rental cars located around Union Square area {O'Farrell Street} and around Fisherman's Wharf area too.

We've stayed in both areas, prefer Union Sq area. We use Dollar rental, got a great price for January $20 a day, no one way drop off fees [returning it to SFO].

I keep checking their prices, they have dropped several times since I booked.

We also stayed Union Square and walked about 2 blocks to pick up our car - very easy and easy to get out of the city too.

And Fisherman's Wharf is lousy if you're coming in by BART. Union Square is convenient to both BART and rental car places.

Depends on which firm you use. The Embarcadero is good if you use Budget. There is a Budget location in the Hyatt and it is practically on top of a BART station.
