BERESFORD ARMS IN SF

Hi,
We have just reserved a parlour suite at the Beresford Arms for our trip in August, I have read some good review of this hotel on trip advisor, but most of the posts re this hotel on this forum are quite old. Can anyone advise on the suitability of this hotel?

Pretty small and old style rooms - the Marines' Memorial X the street is way better, if you are "eligible".

Hi scoobydoo, I stayed at the Beresford Arms but it was awhile ago. The rooms were old but clean and the hotel staff were very pleasant.

Use to belong to The Marine's Memorial but gave up the membership as it got to the point that they never had an available room when one was needed. Maybe just bad luck with the timing.

Thanks for the replies, from their website the Beresford Arms looks quite an old style hotel. Is is in a state of poor decoration?

We stayed there last June. It's nothing fancy, but it's certainly acceptable. Clean rooms that are actually relatively large. Small manager's reception with wine and cheese. Good deal for the price, I thought.

After the Marines' Memorial Club/Hot, we used to stay at the Ren Stanford Court, but this year, we chose the bargain Executive Vintage Court going to and the Chancellor returning from China.
We shall see, lol.

I stayed at Beresford & it's OK but Hotel Milano is a better value. I travel to SF a lot & use http://www.hotelres.com/ for all of my business trips to the SF Bay area.

Thanks, I have had a look at the Hotel Milano website and it certainly looks v good value for money. However the attraction of the Beresford is the Parlour suite, so that we can have 3 beds. 2 adults and 2 teenagers (boy & girl). If anyone knows any other hotels other than the Beresford that caters for a family needing 3 beds, please advise?
