Ben Franklin Hotel in Philadelphia

I am planning a trip for next month to Philadelphia (am going to see Yankees play the Phillies) & am staying at the Hampton Inn near the Convention Center. I am looking for the Ben Franklin Hotel where I stayed way back in the 70's. It used to be where all the USMA cadets stayed for the Army Navy game. I found an address on PubCrawler.com that looks like it might be it at 822-840 Chestnut Street as it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. I also found a legal document when I did a Google search that mentions that they filed for banktruptcy a few years ago. Can anyone tell me IF this is the same hotel and if the building is still standing, what is it now? I looked on Mapquest but am not sure what area this is considered. Would walking there be safe as it's only .78 miles from the hotel? Thanks in advance.

My memory of walking in that area is that there is a building called the "Ben Franklin," although it is obviously no longer a hotel. The entire area is safe to walk in at all hours of the day, as long as you use ordinary care.

I did some more research and found that the Ben Franklin Hotel IS the one I am thinking of and is located there still maybe as apartments? http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=820+Chestnut+St, +Philadelphia,+PA +19107&ll=39.954951,-75.154295&spn=0.024146,0.0842&om=0

Your link doesn't work because it's too long. Go to www.tinyurl.com to make your long link into a more manageable short one.

It is, indeed, an apartment building now:
