Bellingham Dinner August 30, 2008
Where is a good place to eat in Bellingham.
We aren't celebrating an anniversary or birthday--we just want a restaurant locals go when they want a good meal but don't want to cook?

I like the Boundary Bay Brewery. I don't live there so I can't say for sure it's populated by locals (although it certainly has that feel to it) but I used to drive through B'ham often on the way to Lummi and always enjoyed stopping there for a casual dinner.

I've researched these suggestions, and it have decided we will have dinner at Boundary Bay Brewery.
The menu is in the right price range, and, from what I read, it is the most popular watering hole in town.
Thanks to you all for introducing me to places new to me in Bellingham.

Kealalani,
You gave me a good laugh. I checked out Rosewoods and Ma Glockners without realizing they are on the other side of the country.
I was referring to Bellingham, WA, and I am surprised to learn there is more than one Bellingham. Anyway, now I know where to eat chicken when I'm in MA. Thanks.

We ate at Boundary Bay Brewery on Thursday evening, and it was quite a scene. There was entertainment in the beer garden, the deck was fully occupied--as were the bar and indoor dining room.
They were going to screen "The Blues Brothers" in the beer garden later in the evening, but we didn't hang around to see it.
Thanks for turning us on to this authentic local joint. We enjoyed our meal, and we had a great time.

Too funny, but I have to query Ma Glockners?????
Tried it once but actually didn't like the chicken it was way too dry - sorry to any fans here.
Rosewoods is better known for their icecream - YUM!!!
To anyone visiting Bellingham MA try Incontro in Franklin http://incontrorestaurant.com/
I'm a Brit and appreciate that they have an outside eating area - the restaurant is just too busy on Fri/Sat evening for us though

NWT,
I'm sorry that Lummi cabin isn't there for your enjoyment these days.
We like to take the easy hike at Artist Point, Mt. Baker at least once a year, and that's why we were in Bellingham on Thursday evening.
We drove up I-5 to Exit 212 and then took Highway 9 to 542. In Sedro-Woolley we found a good Chinese restaurant in a strip mall on the NW corner where Highway 9 going north connects with Highway 20.
The trail at Artist Point always gives me the feeling that I'm walking on the top of the world.
On Friday we drove to Winthrop via Chuckanut Drive, the Skagit Valley, and the North Cascade Highway--but that's another story.

alya, I was being a smart a$$ as I didn't think htty was really looking for grub in Mass.
MaGlockners was once a great place, serving only chicken and then seafood on Fridays. Killer cinnomon rolls. Now I think there are new owners and an extended menu - so not what it once was, but the only restaurant I knew was in a town called Bellingham. Rosewoods has great fried shrimp and onion rings, ask for cocktail sauce. And I'll try the ice cream - any fave flavours?! I have given family in that area gift certificates to Incontro, but have never been. Good?
BTW - think we have just diagnosed a new form of dyslexia reversing MA and WA! LOL!!!!!!!

kealalani, I figured
FYI, Incontro is very good - 12 pool/billiard tables on the second floor and no under 21's allowed upstairs.
Because of this it's one of those resaturants where adults tend to 'dress up' especially on Fri/Sat night most nights they provide valet parking.
We tend to go Sunday late afternoon - after the brunch but before dinner, It's my favorite time, nice and quiet, no waiting time. I usually order the cheese plate from the bar menu (ask for extra bread) and that is plenty for me.
We have visited the restaurant and have found all the food to be good - I'm working my way down the menu.
If someone gave me a GC for Incontro I would be very pleased - I hope your family appreciates them, If not I'll swap them for a GC to Ma Glockners
