Bellagio Spa in Las Vegas

We'll be staying at the Bellagio soon, and I've read about the meditation room and would like to visit that area of the spa.

Has anyone been there? Are you only allowed in the meditation room if you've purchased a spa service or paid the $25 daily fitness center fee?

I too would love to know what people think of Spa Bellagio and if it is worth the hype and the money. In particular, how does it compare to the divine Spa Mandalay?

My daughter and I went on a tour of the Bellagio Spa two years ago, but decided we wanted to save our cash for other stuff. We were staying across the strip at Bally's. Anyway, it looked very nice.

I posted a trip report that included my experience at the spa, but it appears the report was pulled because someone got out of line with their comments. I'll report it for you.

The Bellagio webpage says you must be a guest of the hotel in order to use the spa ... by "use" I mean book a spa treatment. Is this true? I will be at Ballys for 5 nights (right across the street) and, if the Bellagio spa is really as good as people say, I would like to book a treatment.

yes, you have to be staying at the hotel to book a spa treatment and use the spa facilities.

the salon however is open to the public

I was actually very surprised at how busy the spa was considering that it was available to guests of the hotel only. I was there on an early Monday morning and there were about 15 people in the waiting area at all times. It's a huge facility. But the flow through the people quickly.

hunterblu, thanks I read your report. What kind of massage did you get? Was the facility nice?

Thanks hunterblu ... guess I'll have to give the spa at Ballys a try.

Boxer - You're not limited to the spa at Bally's. Though Bellagio has a hotel-guests-only policy, not all the spas do. Not sure about Venetian and Mandalay Bay (also considered high end spas in Vegas), but you could check. I believe the spa at Paris is supposed to be very good also, and believe they were open to the public when I checked earlier this year.

Check here for earlier spa reports with the search at the top, or go to www.google.com and click on advanced search, then search for vegas spa and limit the domain to fodors.com/forums since the search function through this site doesn't work very well. Spas in vegas have been reviewed here, so you should get some more info on which ones are worth checking out.
