Bellagio - Las Vegas

Made resvtn for May 27. Any renovations going on at the Bellagio? It is 50th b'day of my wife. Any restaurant recommendations for the night of her b'day. She loves steaks, fish and does not drink (maybe 1 glass of wine). -- Re Bellagio, any suggestions on rooms/floors we should request? All suggestions appreciated. Oh, for breakfast and lunches, no buffets, do you recommend some nice coffee shops or restaurants. She usually likes her coffee and on trips eggs/.. lunches nice salads. Dinners for 3 nights to be special. Also, nice quiet romantic lounge..maybe dancing? Thanks

There's a some work going on with the Bellagio staircase, they're tearing it down, not sure what they're putting up.

As for dinner, you can't go wrong with Picasso or Prime.

Room - try and get a fountain view, I think they cal it "lakeside" and charge more but you might be able to get upgraded. They pipe the music for the fountain show in to the TV so you can watch it live from your room and still get the sound.

Breakfast/lunch - I wouldn't count out the Bellagio buffet, it is amazing! Same holds for dinner. I think it's one of the best meals in town. Olives is also a good choice if you want to avoid the buffet. Mon Ami Gabi is great for lunch across the street at Paris.

Lounge - Fontana Lounge at Bellagio, very romantic, view of fountains, they usually have a band, Peach Bellini is the house specialty. I wouldn't call it quiet..I'd assume if you want to dance there will be a band or something making noise.

The best 'deal' at Bellagio is the Salone Suites at the ends of each floor, particularly the ones with strip/fountain views. These rooms are bigger than standard rooms, but proportionately you don't pay as much as you would for a Bellagio Suite or Penthouse Suite (which are the rooms that really make Bellagio a special hotel--if you can afford it, those rooms are truly worth it and memorable).
The best floors are 28 and above facing the fountains (that's where most of the suites are).
Bellagio's restaurants are almost uniformly excellent, though expensive. Get a seat for lunch at Olives (Italian fare) on the veranda outdoors overlooking the fountains.
Circo has wonderfully fanciful decor/atmosphere and excellent food. Le Cirque is the more expensive and refined sister of Circo. Prime is Bellagio's outstanding steakhouse.

Beyond Bellagio, outdoor lunch/dinner seating is available at Mon Ami Gabi right across the street (at Paris). Nice to dine outdoors in May, fountain watch, people watch etc.

Hi
I have been lucky enough to spend a few birthdays at the Bellagio. Do tell them at the desk, they will gift your wife with a little cd and something nice
We always ask for a room over the fountains on a high floor. The rooms are lovely, large, silent!,the beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms are huge, I love their glass showers.
We always get room service for breakfast, coffee for two and croissants..anything you want, they will bring
Our favorite eateries in Bellagio=
Olives for lunch ( sit out on the terrace if possible)
Had dinner there a couple of times, can be a little noisy and crowded, but the food is excellent.
My fav is Circo..not as fancy as Le Cirque, great staff, great food and tables with views of fountains.
Prime is a good steak house, I hear, I don't eat steak, so this is just what I have heard.
Picasso is beautiful, and delicious and expensive.
Lunch outside of Bellagio-
We still like Spago in Ceasars Forums for lunch. Sometimes it is fun to sit in the outdoor cafe and watch the crowds, sometimes we sit inside in a huge booth and talk~
Mon Ami Gabi in the Paris hotel is good..lunch or breakfast.
I used to like Emerils, last couple of times, too noisy and crowded, service suffered.
Off Strip is the Rio hotel and the Voodoo Lounge. We have eaten there many times, never had a bad meal, excellent Creole seafood dishes. The Voodoo Lounge also is a bar, one of the most amazing views, it is at the top of the hotel , so you can see the entire town of Las Vegas!
Have a great time! Good luck

We stayed at Bellagio last month. Definitely get a lakeview room on a higher floor. You will need to bring a sportcoat if you decide to eat at Picasso. We ate at Aqua, their seafood restaurant (original is in San Francisco), and thought the food was great. We don't normally "do" buffets, but thought their dinner buffet was very good - incredible amount of food. Check out the Cafe Gelato at Bellagio for a treat. A friend was also in Vegas last month, and raved about her dinner at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris, which is right across the street from Bellagio. She said the food was wonderful, and they had a great view of the strip. I would second Mon Ami Gabi at Paris for a nice lunch. We also ate at "Jasmine," Bellagio's Chinese restaurant. Food was very good, but not great, but the restaurant is situated with a view of the fountain show. Have a great time.

unicares-

Ask for a room facing the "dancing waters"---that is how the front desk describes it.....Req.a high floor

Also have the concierge get a table for you at Le Cirque--IT WAS FABULOUS!!!
One of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in==and the decor is killer- being an elegant circus tent---to die for!!! Service was PERFECT--Food was AWESOME!! YOur wife will LOVE you for it....

For lunch- take her across the street to PARIS for their buffet- One of the best in town--has all the regions of France represented....

Another tried and true Las Vegas Special restaurant is Andre's.....

The coffee shop at the Bellagio is good- but definitely get ROOM SERVICE- it is no more expensive than the coffee shop and FABULOUS!

We stay at Bellagio often, and I agree with the previous posters' room suggestions.

As for restaurants, if your wife likes seafood, I highly recommend Aqua. We had a very disappointing meal at Picasso, so can't recommend it. For a pleasant Chinese lunch, I like Noodles. Olives is also lovely.

There are different rooms that face the fountains.

A few months ago, we stayed in a "corner deluxe" room which is at an end of the floor facing the fountain. We had views of the fountain and the strip. We also had a large picture window in the bathroom facing the strip.

For a special occasion, I think it's worth it.
