Bellagio and ??
We are planning to spend a week in Las Vegas next spring. We already plan to spend 3 nights at the Bellagio--but we want to spend the remaining 3 nights at another top LV hotel. Which would you suggest? The Hard Rock is out--too rowdy. Budget is not a (big) concern for this particular trip (celebrating my husband's 50th birthday and our 20th wedding anniversary). Want good rooms, good service, good swimming pools (with mostly adults, not kids), good restaurant(s). Not looking for "family" activities--no kids on this trip!
Thanks!
Thanks!

How about the Four Seasons at Mandalay Bay? It's at the opposite end of the strip from Bellagio, has it's own check in, swimming pool, spa, but you can utilize the amenities at Mandalay Bay as well. Also, the Four Seasons does not have a casino, you go to the one at Mandalay Bay.

Anything other than Bellagio will be a disappointment?
Not true.
The suites at the Four Seasons are very nice (however the standard rooms are nothing great). The Four Seasons occupies the top floors of Mandalay Bay, has its own entrance and elevators, and its own pool (very few kids). It doesn't feel like a LV hotel since it's quiet and up above the fray.
Venetian is the other alternative. Standard rooms are very nice, but service not as good as Bellagio's (which is usually OK but can be spotty).
There's nothing downtown in this league.

Thanks for all your input. We plan to be there during the week (arriving Sunday evening and leaving on a Saturday morning. We won't be traveling during a school holiday or major vacation period. Will there really be that many kids around anyway? Are there tons of toddlers around? Maybe we should stick with Bellagio, but we'd like to try something else. What about New York, New York? Or Paris?

Twice,
Spend the first three nights at Venetian and the last three at Bellagio. I haven't stayed at Bellagio, but twice at Venetian and it was a nice experience. The pool at the "V" was nice as if you are there midweek, wouldn't think you would have the kid thing going on.
You will be able to break up "The Strip" experience and save the best for last if you stay at Bellagio at the end.
Have a good time and Happy anniversary!!!

If you're there for a whole week you'll at least get a walk-thru sample of the atmosphere for all the recommended places. For many, a walk-thru sample may be all you want. Why take a chance? The Bellagio is clearly the consensus pick, and you won't be disappointed in spending the week there.

For two adults, the Bellagio is a good choice. It has 5 pools, they keep very strict rules about kids, very strict about them being around the casino.Rooms are very nice, most have some kind of good view, although the higher floors overlooking the strip are the best, view-wise. Venetian has a limited amount of rooms with a decent view and you pay plenty for those.
You should stay at one hotel, and just visit the others. Then you will experience Las Vegas but get to go back to a really nice room at the end of the day.

New York New York and Paris?
If Bellagio is a 9 on a scale of 10 overall, NYNY is about a 4 and Paris a 6.5.
NYNY is really a lower to mid range hotel on the strip. Small, sterile rooms.
Paris is a good value with interesting theme execution, but it's nowhere near being a luxury hotel. Veneer furniture, cheap thinnish carpeting, cheapish sheets and towels, etc.
I would add, though, that since MGM bought Bellagio they've started to cut corners on the high end luxury amenities like highest thread count sheets and such. MGM has not been good for Bellagio's status as the undisputed top hotel in LV. But it's still a great place overall.

As other posters stated the Venetian or Four Seasons is your best bet. Ask for the Oasis Package special at FS. I like Venetian better then Bellagio FWIW. I had several issues with service at Bellagio my last stay there and I do believe the service level has dropped.
Kids can really be in Vegas most anytime. Lots of the kids come from CA which has tons of year round school (SUCKS) so they have vacations pretty much all year long. Can't count on there being less kids anymore.

The Bellagio is one of the best but I would definitely consider the four seasons. Also The Ritz Carlton is opening a resort at Lake MEad which is about 25 minutes off the strip. It opens in January 2003 and is supposed to be unbelievable. They will model it after an italian village such as Portofino. Great shopping, food, and it is right on the water. Fabulous. There is also a Hyatt out there, and 3 or 4 golf courses as well. It is a nice place to escape the strip for a few days. Have fun.

Almost everyone agrees that Bellagio is the best. So if you're going to split your stay between two hotels, stay at Bellagio last. We stayed at the Venetian in June for a great rate of $119 per night. We thought the service was excellent and the rooms are certainly impressive....absolutely no complaints about any aspect of this property. NY NY is overrun with kids. Paris is quite nice if you book a suite or get upgraded to one like we did once. There was nothing chintzy about that room. The bathrooms (that's right, two!) were awesome. There's a new resort going up right next to the Venetian to the North. It's supposed to be even more deluxe than the Bellagio or the Venetian. They only had the ground cleared when we were there, so it'll be a while before it's ready. Have fun!
