we went with Bald Mountain end of august and was great but I am not in the position to compare it with Hallo Bay which also has a very good reputation on this forum. Hallo Bay also arranges 2-3 days bear viewing trips while Bald Mountain does not !

Hi All,
New to board. Going to AK next week and would like info, particularly anyplace to find safety records on these Services(Hallo, Emerald). I'm just nervous about the plane rides. Any stories about Hallo experiences would be appreciated. I'm really close to booking with them. Thanks.

I would try Alaska west air, owner is a great guy runs a really safe service.
He flys year round not just the summer mashup, so the planes are in tip top shape.

We had a really good day of Salmon fishing/bearviewing last year with

Located in Soldotna. Black bears within feet of us catching Salmon pretty much the entire 5 hours we were there. Only saw Grizzies from a long distance.
