Beaches in Florida Thanksgiving week

Now that Florida is open again....we are thinking of doing a beach trip for Thanksgiving to Florida. Looking at Longboat Key, Naples, Sanibel. Just curious though are beaches packed more so that time of year? When do all the snowbirds begin to arrive? We were there in July in Naples and obviously, things were still closed or limited seating for restaurants. The beaches were not packed though and it was rather nice.

Does anyone else visit that time of year?

Generally speaking Snowbirds begin their migration to the area in November with many arriving in time for Thanksgiving. The migration continues to build into December which is considered to be the beginning of “high season”. Snowbirds begin leaving in late March and early April (usually after Easter) and are pretty much gone by the beginning of May. As you might expect the number of people you’ll find on the beach will follow those same trends.

Oh, forgot to mention, in high season restaurants can be very busy so reservations are highly recommended whenever possible.

Thank you! Good to know. I am all over the board now. We are definitely going to do VRBO. Just to be able to distance if needed. So many places to consider
