Beach Vac. Oct.22 to Nov.05

Any suggestions for an inexpensive beach vacation between Oct 22nd and Nov. 05. Flights are already checked out. I would prefer a cheap place where I could prepare most of my own meals and walk to a beach in 2 miles or less. Not fancy just clean and safe.
Thanks

Sorry I should have checked temperatures first. Looks like it would be cool for swimming that late in the fall. sorry just ignore post if that is true.

Do you mean in California?

1) the Pacific is very VERY cold most of the year - so even in summer it isn't always good for swimming. Late October should actually be decent weather on the coast - but you'd freeze your buns off in the water.

2) you say 'cheap' but give no hint what your budget is. Cheap could mean anything.

3) do you want a motel w/ a kitchenette or do you want a vacation rental?

3) California is is a huge place - nearly 1000 miles of coast line -- any area in particular?

For swimming then you want Hawaii or FL.

If you can fly direct to Los Cabos, consider Cabo San Lucas which would be cheaper than California, Hawaii and Florida. Short-term rentals are legal (unlike in most SoCal beach towns), and water temps would still be very comfortable.

Cancun would have similar water temps, but I'm not familiar with lodging costs there.
