I guess you still just don't get it. In high season they could probably fill behind you on fairly short notice. In the off season, bookings are fewer and farther between - you cancelled and that means the room has more of a chance to be empty after a cancellation . . . .

I posted the name of the place because this was the first time in my experience that such a cancellation fee was charged. I said clearly that when I checked the site again I saw that I had misread it and the cancellation fee regulation was posted there. I said that I thought such a fee was outrageous. Then, after reading a dozen or so of your comments, I posted an "I stand corrected" statement.
So far as I can see, your piling on is not especially helpful to anyone and notably self-indulgent. Get a life, you people!
