Wow! Some great responses about KC BBQ so far! One note....Jake Edwards just south of the Plaza is closed. Not sure what happened or if it moved, but I walked by this weekend and it was empty, closed up, and dark.

I personally like Jack Stack in the Crown Center area. I know it's not as good as one of those hole-in-the-wall experiences, but the food is good. I LOVE their "cheesy corn bake" side dish!

Also, for a hole-in-the-wall with great food, try Oklahoma Joe's. It's in a gas station (not kidding) around 40-something and Mission Rd.

Lastly...you need a car. No way to get to all of the good places without one. KC has a bus system, but not a great one. Stay at the CC Plaza or at Crown Center and go from there.
