Trying to remember the name of a BBQ restaurant in Fayetteville from many years ago. Might have been in a little shopping center. Any ideas, or, what's the best BBQ restaurant in Fayetteville?

Used to go there alllll the time when I was a kid. Haven't been there in years. Last time I was there the bbq had too much of the vinegar-based taste for my palate. Love the sawdust floor, tho!!

The restaurant you are most likely talking about is Penguin Ed's but a new place just opened up about 6 months ago on Wedington Street called Boar's Nest BBQ. Alot like Penguin Ed's in that it's mostly sandwiches and pulled pork plates but they have really good ribs, which Penguin Ed's does not (don't have ribs at all).

Penguin Ed's ribs are the reason I go there!

Just on the issue of BBQ in Fayetteville, there is really not a southern style(vinegar based) place around here. Everything is uses sliced products or chopped pork. Only Benson's on Dickson street uses pulled pork but it is just OK.

If you don't mind a 30 minute drive for the best BBQ in NWA, visit the Whole Hog in Bentonville!! It's as good as the original in LR!!

Penguin Ed's is the old B&B Barbecue. I've eaten there since the 60's. Great bbq. Smoky Bones is good, too.
